Research Description

My research interests have always been based in systems neuroscience with an emphasis on behavior and imaging. The rewards system conveniently necessitates both in order to fully understand it. Thus, I am interested in taking techniques like fiber photometry, 2-photon microscopy, and operant conditioning in tandem and applying them to address questions of mechanisms underlying behavioral state changes in the reward pathway. I am currently conducting the project and making progress. My plan is to make it the focus of my thesis and will eventually submit as first author for publication.
